Joelle Hood-- A Catalyst for Positive Change in Individuals and our Educational System
In addition to Catalyst Coaching, Joelle Hood is a Senior Consultant with Collaborative Learning Solutions and is able to follow her passion to spread the word to educators across the nation about the importance of Social Emotional Learning for students and staff through Professional Development workshops and site/district consulting. Prior to that position, she was a Principal for Riverside County Office of Education's Alternative Education program for the past four years, and was awarded with "Principal of the Year" in 2014. Previously, she was an Assistant Principal at Mojave High School in Hesperia Unified School District's Alternative Education program for five years, and she taught for 13 years in Lucerne Valley Unified School District (Teacher of the Year—1996). She has been a Certified Life Coach since 2004 and is passionate about helping people become the best possible versions of themselves.
She is an advocate for youth and is committed to incorporating Social Emotional Learning into schools so that they can help prepare students to become the best that they can be, and help make the world a better place at the same time. She has presented workshops and trainings at the site, district, and state level on a variety of topics.
She has also been a Peer Leadership Camp Administrator for the past nine years, and has been a Co-Coordinator, Workshop Presenter and Keynote Speaker for the Southern Region Student Wellness Conference.
In November of 2013, she started a Facebook page called "Hood's Kindness Revolution Experiment" with the goal of infusing Facebook news feeds with positivity, hope, and inspiration and encouraged people to join it to help make kindness contagious. In just over 8 months, the page grew to serve over 10,000 people in 45 different countries and still continues to grow and spread joy daily.
